To write a successful and an engaging story or novel, the first step you need to take is to have a strong plot on which your story will run. To have a good plot, you first have to understand its basic components and the main difference between a plot and telling a story.
To develop a simple story, all you need is a sequence of events and they don’t necessarily have any purpose, especially at the onset. On the other hand, a plot is something very different. You will consider having a good plot, if you are successful in engaging your audience in it. Your audience should remember that what had happened in the beginning, they should have an understanding towards the relationship between your characters, their circumstances, and based on all these, they can predict the upcoming events and the ending of the story. One important thing that you need to remember is, your plot must force your reader to ask ‘Why’.
